About Us
The Edgewater Condominiums have been providing year-round fun for families and friends for 50 years. In 1971 the Edgewater was built; it was originally planned for a three-story complex on Little Detroit. The units were very popular and sold quickly, so a fourth floor was added to accommodate the demand, which included an elevator and a great beach and shore line.
Residences and guests enjoyed wonderful summers with fishing, boating, swimming, 4th of July fireworks, the Detroit Lakes Water Carnival as well as other gatherings. In the winter months snowmobiling, ice fishing and participating in the various winter carnivals and polar fest activities brought joy to many. In the years following, additional garages and a new docking system were added.
In addition to the condominium complex, there was the Edgewater Inn restaurant, which served the residences of Detroit Lakes and its visitors. In 1977 the Edgewater Inn restaurant was destroyed in a fire.
Over the years many improvements and updates were completed at the Edgewater. A few years ago Edgewater underwent a complete renovation of its common areas. New flooring, ceiling tiles, paint, safety systems, condo doors and other upgrades took place.

The Edgewater Condominiums have year-round resident owners, seasonal owners and long-term rentals.

The great water front and close proximity to the Detroit Lakes park, city beach, local restaurants and shopping, have made the Edgewater condominiums a great place to enjoy all that Detroit Lakes has to offer.
